On 8-9 March 2017 in Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam), the Asia Beef Network team attended the Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) organized Beef and Dairy Livestock Asia expo which was the only platform for the cattle industry to get together in South East Asia to exchange ideas and showcase up to date models for improving productivity in the beef and dairy sector.
The aim of the event was to allow participants in the beef and dairy industry in Asia to gain a better understanding of products and services available to them allowing for more informed choices to improve trade opportunities, productivity, stock health, and animal welfare within their individual production systems. The Asia Beef Network team was proud to receive an invitation from MLA to attend the event to introduce the network and deliver a presentation on beef & cattle in SEA. Dr. Pham Van Luong on behalf of the team delivered a presentation on Cattle Movements & Beef Trade in the SEA & China & Developing a Trade Model for the Cattle and Beef trade sector in SEA.
