In week 45, the average price of beef thigh was at 192,000 VND/kg, a continued fall since week 37 and a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous week. The average price of beef fillet in week 45 increased slightly by 0.9% to 222,000 VND/kg.

  • In week 45, the average price of live-weight cattle decreased slightly compared to week 44, from 86,000 VND/kg to 85,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1.2%.
  • For local cattle, the lowest price was recorded in the Central Highlands at 60,000 VND/kg, while the highest price was observed in the North and South at 70,000 VND/kg.
  • For BBB cattle, in week 45, the lowest price was recorded in the South at 76,000 VND/kg and the highest price in the North at 89,000 VND/kg.

In week 46, prices of Vietnamese beef at supermarkets remained relatively stable compared to the previous week. However, at Go Mart, beef fillet decreased to 360,000 VND/kg (down 2%) and beef thigh decreased to 357,000 VND/kg (down 1%).

Prices of Australian beef at supermarkets in week 46 remained unchanged compared to week 45, except for increase in prices of beef shank at Home Farm to 249,000 VND/kg and chuck crest to 299,000 VND/kg. This marks the first occasion of price fluctuation after a continuous six-week period of maintaining stable prices at this supermarket.
