Bi-Weekly Beef and Cattle market update from vietnam (apr 29-may 10, 2024)

In week 18, the average price of beef thigh fell by 1.1% compared to week 17, at 199.2 thousand VND/kg, and lowest the early of 2024. the average price of beef fillet rose by 1.4% compared to the previous week, reaching 224.2 thousand VND/kg.

• In week 18, the average price of live-weight cattle was 83.1 thousand VND/kg, marking a 0.8% increase from the previous week.
• In week 18, the lowest price recorded for local cattle and crossbred Brahman cattle was 68,000 VND/kg in both the North and the Central Highlands - Central region, while the highest price was recorded in the North at 75,000 VND/kg. The lowest price for BBB (Belgian Blue Beef) cattle was recorded in the North and the Central Highlands - Central region at 65,000 VND/kg, while the highest was in the North at 83,000 VND/kg.

​During week 19, the prices of Vietnamese beef fluctuated at most supermarkets. Go Mart reported an increase in the price of Brisket Navel End beef, while the price of beef shank, beef fillet, and beef thigh decreased compared to week 18. During the previous weeks, beef prices in Co.op Mart were quite stable, however, the prices of beef shank and beef fillet were also reportedly decreased. Similarly, the price of beef fillet has increased at Winmart. Covifood is still the supermarket offering the most affordable prices for all varieties of Vietnamese beef.
Except for Go Mart, which reported an increase in the price of Australian beef shank to 300,000 VND/kg, the prices of this item remained stable at most supermarkets in week 19. However, Go Mart still offered the lowest price out of the three supermarkets that sold it.
