In the first week of 2024, the average price of beef thigh was 201 thousand VND/kg, an increase of 4% compared to the previous week. The average price of beef fillet was 212 thousand VND/kg, a decrease of 6.7% compared to the previous week.

• ​In the first week of 2024, the average price of live-weight cattle was 83.8 thousand VND/kg, an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous week.
• For local cattle, the lowest price in the first week of 2024 was recorded in the Central-Highland region at 60,000 VND/kg, while the highest price was in the North at 74,000 VND/kg.
• For BBB cattle, the lowest price in the first week of 2024 was recorded in the South at 75,000 VND/kg, while the highest price was in the North at 86,000 VND/kg. The price of live-weight cattle in the North was higher than in other regions by around 4-6 thousand VND/kg.

In week 2 of 2024, supermarket prices for Vietnamese beef remained relatively stable, with minimal changes observed. However, at Go Mart, the price of beef fillet decreased to 358 thousand VND/kg, while the price of beef thigh increased to 335 thousand VND/kg.

Prices of Australian beef at Bach Hoa Xanh in week 2 of 2024 decreased sharply by 10-13% compared to week 52 of 2023, since the supermarket launched a promotional discount program ahead of Lunar New Year in 2024. In contrast, prices of Australian beef at other supermarkets remained unchanged from the previous week.
