In week 52, the prices of beef thigh and beef fillet decreased compared to week 51. The average price of beef thigh was 193,333 VND/kg, a decrease of 4.7% compared to the previous week. The average price of beef fillet was 226,667 VND/kg, a decrease of 1% compared to the previous week. In week 52, the average price of live-weight cattle remained unchanged compared to the previous week, at 82,500 VND/kg. According to local traders, BBB and Charolais cattle prices in the South were lower than in the North in week 52. Specifically, the price of BBB cattle in the South was 75-77 thousand VND/kg and in the North was 78-86 thousand VND/kg. The price of Charolais in the South was 65-68 thousand VND/kg and in the North was 72-75 thousand VND/kg. In the first week of 2024, the price of Vietnamese beef at supermarkets was relatively stable compared to the previous week, except the prices of beef fillet and beef thigh at Go Mart. Specifically, at Go Mart, the price of beef fillet was 377 thousand VND/kg, the highest price since August 2023. The price of beef thigh was 333 thousand VND/kg, an increase of 37 thousand VND/kg compared to the previous week. In the first week of 2024, the prices of Australian beef at Homefarm fluctuated the most compared to the previous week. Of which, the price of beef brisket decreased by 40,000 VND/kg to 289,000 VND/kg, the price of beef shank decreased by 20,000 VND/kg to 219,000 VND/kg, and the price of beef sirloin Hokubee decreased sharply by 70,000 VND/kg to 789,000 VND/kg. The prices of Australian beef remained unchanged at other supermarkets compared to the previous week, except for the price of beef shank at Go Mart, which decreased by 49,000 VND/kg to 249,000 VND/kg.
