In week 46, the average prices of beef thigh and beef fillet decreased compared to the previous week. Specifically, beef thigh decreased by 2.5% to 187,000 VND/kg, which is the lowest ever recorded in the year, and beef fillet decreased by 0.4% to 221,000 VND/kg. The average price of live-weight cattle in week 46 was 86,000 VND/kg, up 1.2% compared to the previous week. After the peak price drop to 82,000 VND/kg (week 40), for the last 6 consecutive weeks, the price of live-weight cattle has been more stable in the range of 85,000 to 86,000 VND/kg. In week 47, Vietnamese beef prices fluctuated the most at Go Mart. The price of beef fillet at Go Mart increased by 5,000 VND/kg compared to week 46 to 365,000 VND/kg; beef navel end decreased by 3,000 VND/kg to 257,000 VND/kg, beef thigh decreased by 12,000 VND/kg to 345,000 VND/kg. Vietnamese beef prices at other supermarkets are stable compared to week 46. In week 47, Australian beef prices remained unchanged at most supermarkets except at Go supermarket where the price of lean beef shoulder meat decreased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to week 46 to 330,000 VND/kg.
